Knights Out new Website launched 1 February 2009

It's about time. A little more than five years after USNA Out made its initial debut, a new group of open LGBT West Point alumni has finally formed. Knights Out was founded by two USMA alumni, L Paul Morris, USMA ’80, and Dan Manning, USMA ’04 and Steve Clark Hall, USNA ’75. L. Paul Morris is the current chair of SAGALA, the joint service academy gay and lesbian alumni network, and Dan Manning is the SAGALA USMA board representative.

Most of the initial Knights Out members have been long-term members of SAGALA.net. With some encouragement from USNA Out members Steve Clark Hall ’75, Joe Soto ’83 and Jeff Petrie ’89, the new USMA “Out” group has chosen the name Knights Out and will be incorporating in the State of Delaware. Stay tuned to yet another Army-Navy rivalry. Within the first three days, Knights Out signed on more "founding members" than did the “Blue-Alliance” of the US Air Force Academy at its inception, and as of 16 February they have now surpassed the initial membership numbers of USNA Out! Go Navy!!
