Although hard to believe in today’s world, in the past, a Naval Academy some graduates who were just suspected of being gay and who were interrogated and determined to be so, were given discharges characterized as “Dishonorable” even though the only “crime” was being gay.
By “Righting Dishonorable Wrongs,” USNA Out has been able to provide legal assistance necessary to recharacterize these discharges through the Board for Correction of Naval Records.
