Braxton Sisco ’95
Braxton Sisco was born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Clearwater, Florida. Shortly after an 8th grade trip to the USS YORKTOWN (CV 10) in Charleston, South Carolina, he knew he wanted to attend Annapolis. While in high school at Tampa Jesuit, he attended the Naval Academy’s Summer Seminar for high school juniors which only confirmed his desire to be a Midshipman and become naval officer. He received his congressional nomination to the U. S. Naval Academy from Representative Michael Bilirakis of Clearwater, Florida.

At Annapolis, Braxton majored in Computer Science and was a member of the varsity rifle team. During his firstie year (1994-95), he was the Plebe Summer Regimental Adjutant and the fall semester and color set 3rd Company Commander. Braxton graduated in 1995 receiving his B.S. degree and was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He served for a total of 8 years. His first 4 years were spent as a Surface Warfare officer, after which he laterally transfered into cryptology where he served in both tactical and strategic roles. Braxton loved his time on active duty. To this day, he still cherishes the memories of the places he traveled and of the many fantastic people with whom he had the honor to serve.

Braxton achieved the rank of Lieutenant before he resigned his commission, receiving an honorable discharge. Following his navy career, Braxton earned his MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin. While at school, he met his partner, Robert, and in 2008 they had a ceremony with over 100 family and friends in attendance. They now live in Dallas, Texas, where Braxton works as a management consultant for A.T. Kearney. He serves as a member of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion council and leads the LGBT employee resource group. While the current family consists of their dog, Jasper, and their two cats, “Black” and “Grey,” they recently started the adoption process and are hoping to grow the family soon.
