USNA ’12
Brook Stevens was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He excelled in high school both academically and athletically, graduating in the top of his high school class, and earning numerous varsity letters. He received a senatorial nomination to the U.S. Naval Academy from Barbara Feinstein where he majored in Arabic. After two years Brook chose to leave the Naval Academy and complete his B.B.A. in International Business at the University of San Diego.
After graduating from USD Brook began to reconnect with the Naval Academy by specifically serving military officers and their families with the financial planning and wealth management needs. Additionally, Brook has held events for USNA Out in San Diego and continues to be an active marathon runner with two Marine Corps Marathons under his belt as well as many others from California to Africa.
He is most recently a Wealth Management Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with Barnum Financial Group in New York City. Brook also completed his MSc in Finance specializing in Asset Management & Banking from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain. He also has a young husky puppy Mowgli that lives with him in Morningside Heights.
Brook is a board member and Vice Chairman of the Board for USNA Out (July 2018 – present), actively participates in OPEN Finance NYC, and he is a member of the USNA Alumni Association and Foundation’s “Robert Means Thompson Society.”
From Brook:
While it was difficult to look back at the Naval Academy after leaving so soon I finally was able to reconnect both with my straight and LGBT classmates and fellow alumni after a few short years. I continue to be active in the USNA community through USNA Out, the Foundation, and most of my friends here in New York City.
I look forward to continuing to expand USNA Out and the friendships that come along with it. I’m grateful for what the Academy was able to teach me in just two short years and how its positively impacted my life every since.
