Fall Announcements and Board member search

USNA Out Members,

The fall is off to a uniquely exciting start, beginning with the end of DADT on 20 September. I’m very proud to announce that our counterpart organization at the US Air Force Academy, The Blue Alliance, was officially recognized on 21 September by the USAFA Association Of Graduates as an OFFICIAL AFFINITY GROUP. Well done, Blue-Alliance!

I’ve personally had the pleasure to be in Annapolis the past two weekends and will return yet again for the Navy/ECU game on 23 October. We had a great time over the Air Force weekend as many of our members from the Annapolis/DC area joined a few members who gathered from around the US for the festive weekend. Sadly neither the game nor the weather cooperated, but we had a great time getting to share time together.

We wil continue to hold events as opportunities present themselves for our members to network. We have upcoming opportunities to participate in Colorado Springs, in Dallas, Texas, at the Navy-SMU game and in San Francisco for the Navy-San Jose State game. For updated information on our events, view our events page.

We are seeking eager and energetic members to fill Board positions for current board members with terms expiring December 2011. As stated on our board about page, “Board membership means more than just assuming the title and occupying a position, it requires a sincere commitment to bring unique talent, skill, perspective and energy to fulfill the duties of a Board Member. Board members are expected to have the capability and willingness to communicate freely and frequently with other Board Members.”

The USNA Out board will be holding our first meeting of the fall on Saturday, 15 October at Noon (EDT). We will be reviewing the progress in meeting our goals for 2011 and beginning to develop our goals for 2012. As always, all USNA Out members are welcome to listen in to the board proceedings. Contact steve to get the pre-meeting reading materials and call-in access codes.

As always, Changing Minds & Lives of Alumni & Midshipmen.
